Diagnostics
When your pet isn’t feeling well—or even when they are—diagnostic testing gives us the insight we need to understand what’s happening inside their body. Whether it’s to detect illness, monitor ongoing conditions, or establish a healthy baseline, diagnostics are an essential part of providing high-quality veterinary care. At Sheridan, we use a combination of laboratory testing and imaging tools to help us make accurate diagnoses and guide the best possible treatment plans.
Our lab services include a wide range of tests such as bloodwork, fecal analysis, and urine testing. These tests help us evaluate your pet’s organ function, detect infections or parasites, and monitor for early signs of disease. While we don’t process samples in-house, we collect everything right here in the clinic and send them to a trusted external veterinary laboratory. Results are sent directly to us, often within 24–48 hours, allowing us to follow up quickly and share next steps with you.

Radiographs, or X-rays, are a safe and non-invasive imaging tool that helps us examine your pet’s bones, joints, chest, and abdomen. They’re useful in diagnosing conditions such as fractures, arthritis, heart or lung disease, foreign bodies, and digestive issues. We perform radiographs right here in-clinic, alongside physical exams or lab work to get a full picture of your pet’s health.
To enhance accuracy and efficiency, we use an advanced AI tool that quickly analyzes the X-ray images and provides an initial interpretation. If our veterinarian has any concerns or needs a second opinion, the images can also be sent to a board-certified radiologist for a detailed report. This combination of in-house imaging, AI support, and access to specialist review allows us to make informed decisions and act quickly when your pet needs care.
Radiographs
Ultrasound is an advanced imaging technique that allows us to see your pet’s internal organs in real time, including the heart, liver, kidneys, bladder, and gastrointestinal system. It’s especially helpful for identifying masses, fluid buildup, or internal abnormalities that X-rays may not fully capture.
For ultrasound exams, we work with an experienced mobile ultrasound technician who comes directly to our clinic to perform the scan. The images and findings are then reviewed by a veterinary specialist, and the results are sent back to us for interpretation and follow-up with you. This service allows your pet to receive specialized imaging without needing to travel to another facility.
